About Us

Welcome to my little sprinkle of sunshine- -where dirt under the fingernails is not a bit deal (because you can always wash your hands) and every seed has a story!

It all started with a grandmother’s garden and a kid who thought “harvesting” meant watching from a safe distance. Fast forward a few years (okay, more than a few), and suddenly that kid is leading university beautification projects, growing veggies on apartment balconies, and wrangling a 20×48-foot greenhouse like a pro.

My mission? To grow joy, share the bounty, and prove that anyone can go from garden spectator to greenhouse gladiator. Thanks to a USDA grant and a stubborn streak, I’m on a quest to become more self-sustainable—and to bring fresh veggies, herbs, and flowers to market for friends old and new.

I wear many hats over here. I am a professional fitness instructor with a Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Psychology and I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership in Gerontology. My dissertation explores the daily habits of “super agers”—senior adults who maintain cognitive skills comparable to individuals 30 years younger. My passion is helping others discover practical strategies for aging well, grounded in both science and real-life experience.

On this website, I share valuable information on how to age well. Drawing from the latest research and practical insights, I enjoy providing guidance for senior adults and anyone interested in maintaining cognitive vitality and overall well-being as they age. So, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just here for the photos, I’m glad you stopped by. Dig in, dream big, and remember: every garden starts with a single seed.
